Somewhere in the mists of music, where velvet meets chipotle, there you will find the incomparable, indomitable, indelible voice of Miss DEB LANDOLT. Otherwise known on the blues scene as LONG TALL DEB, this cool drink of Texas water interprets the blues with such an easy confidence, it is as though she invented it. About.com described her voice as “the best mix of Koko Taylor’s heart and Etta James’ soul” and the recent VizzTone release of "Raise Your Hands" lays bare the breadth and depth of her life's experiences.
Miss LANDOLT makes no apology for who she is; she is a direct woman with a great deal on her mind. She sings her journey and her life honestly in true blues tradition. LONG TALL DEB's upcoming EP, "Streets of Mumbai," reflects her recent trip to India and Nepal and foreshadows great strides breaking into larger music scenes with first-class songwriting.
LONG TALL DEB's band, THE WEREWOLVES OF ALABAMA adds a dimension of color and fire that richly compliments her dynamic voice. On guitar, COLIN JOHN expresses the mood with keen skill, NATE HOLLMAN adds style on keyboards and providing the solid backbone are veteran musicians MELVIN POWE on bass, and JO EL on drums.
This past year’s highlights include a coveted slot at North America’s second largest music festival: the Ottawa Blues Festival, a tour of Italy, headlining dates at Buddy Guy’s Legends, opening slots for B.B. King and Robert Cray, numerous other festivals and a tour of India and Nepal culminating in a performance at the Himalayan Blues Festival.
JACK'S MOUNTAIN BLUES FESTIVAL takes great pride and pleasure in introducing LONG TALL DEB to the Susquehanna Valley!
